Heavy flow month

Looking over the first few pages of the forums has made me think: "WTF is wrong with these mods?" They seem to lock pretty much every single topic posted no matter what the content. Since the 27th of last month mods have locked 76 topics.

Know your MODs: shungokusatsu

Written by: Kapow

I know what some of you are thinking, "what the fuck is this guys name?" followed by "why are you writing about this?" Well, for one, I am bored. And two, his name got brought up while talking to a friend and I remembered what his name really means. Pronounced 'Shun Goku Satsu (Sh-un Go-koo Sah-t-soo) it literally translates to, "Instant Hell Murder." Which is a finishing move of Goki aka Akuma from the Street Fighter series. Now, I'm not going to sit here and rag on this guy (to much) for his screen name because
1.) It's a cool name (better than Kapow, but it's original and I'll tell the story for anyone who wants to hear)
2.) I'm a big Street Fighter fan and
3.) I use Akuma often when playing Street Fighter.
But with that being said, he himself is not cool and from what I've seen and heard, him and his flunkies over at Lithium are all douche bags.

Anyways, I know a lot of you have trouble saying his name and didn't l know what it meant so I thought I'd share this info. with you guys.
Take and do with it what you want.
Oh! and it appears he's quite the gamer with 31 Platinum trophies...but as I was looking through his trophy list I came across 3 platinums which negate what I just said about him being a gamer:

-Hannah Montana: The Movie: The Game (.......riiiiiight. That also negates the cool factor of your screen name)
-Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
-Terminator Salvation

But here are some fun things you could do:

Next time you get a warning or PM from him or even if he posts in a thread, immediately respond with some sarcastic remark about him murdering someone.
And then tell him to go play Hannah Montana, or, "When's the new Hannah Montana album drop?" or something like that.
I'm sure you guys can think of some other funny, stupid stuff to say or do.

Good luck.

Oh, and enjoy this picture of another apparent douche bag playing Hannah Montana: The Movie: The Game. He'll probably be our next, MOD To Know, so stay tuned.

Fun Police Strike Again

Written by: Kapow

We all know Home takes a long time to load. I'm sure somebody somewhere is working on it (if not SHAME!!!!!). As we buy more things it just seems to take longer to load.

So let's get creative and have some fun with it. Post things you can do while you wait for Home to load. If you wish to complain about load times, please post in one of many other threads. This is for fun, please keep it that way.

Things You Can Do While You Wait For Home To Load;

Go outside and have a smoke

Time a 7 minute egg (last time I checked it took about 7 minutes for it to load for me)

Write a letter to your mom

Read War and Peace

Start a smoking habit

Read all the newest posts here in the Home section

Catch up with everyone on Facebook

Tidy your town in Animal Crossing

Find Waldo

Cure cancer

Now add yours.......

Ok, seems like a normal thread, I see no harm or foul here. A fun little thread about the things you do while you wait for Home to load, ok, cool. But wait, what's this? It seems the fun police arrived to put a stop to this thread. the reason:

Let's keep it directly related to Home. No game style threads please.

A game thread. . .or was it someone told you to shut it down because, once again, someone pointed out some flaws in Home? No wonder Home isn't getting any better, they won't accept any criticism of any kind, they're living in a fucking fantasy land.
Welcome to Home people, go fuck someone in their face and ride a unicorn, er sumpthin. As long as you praise Home you should be fine.

side note: check out that thread, it has some pretty funny responses to the OP.

No more beating around the bush.

This is an awesome forum post. Even though the Lithium rent-a-cops are editing everyone's posts. They kinda remind me of security guards at a mall. Useless unless they're irritated.

Lets have a look.
Home is a stiff and lifeless world with so-so graphics and poor ambience. As one review put it, the environment is sterile and very limited as far as interactivity goes. Many spaces are incredibly dull and mostly devoid of ambient sounds. The interface is bland and boring to look at. The only gaming-related feature we have is universal game launching. Except for the latter, Home is completely isolated from the PlayStation Network. The absence of the Trophy Room/Hall of Fame is especially jarring, since it's been in the works for a very long time. This space would make Home a much more interesting place for gamers, but apparently Sony doesn't care about what we want. All they care about is shoving content down our throats to make a quick buck and to take our focus off of Home's numerous issues.

As one user put it (can't remember your username, sorry), Home isn't evolving, it's just getting flabbier. Sony is taking on much more than it can handle with the weekly content updates, and we're the ones who suffer because of it. Here's a thought, why don't you get all the kinks worked out before you dump a boatload of content on our laps? Seems like nobody at Sony has the guts to say "Hey, we screwed up big time, we should hold back for a while and try to figure out what went wrong before we release any new content".

No doubt some users will tell me that I don't "understand" Home, or some such nonsense, but that's just evading the issue. Home IS riddled with problems, and some seem like they're trying really hard not to pick up on that. Pretending to be satisfied will not do Home or its community any good. The problem here is Sony, not us.

The original post had mentioned two people by name. Luckily some unnamed hero snagged a screenshot before the original was butchered. Here's the current post:

No doubt some users will tell me that I don't "understand" Home, or some such nonsense, but that's just evading the issue. Home IS riddled with problems, and some seem like they're trying really hard not to pick up on that. Pretending to be satisfied will not do Home or its community any good. And the actual post:

No doubt Conrad_Max and Joanna_Dark_ will tell me that I don't "understand" Home, or some such nonsense, but that's just evading the issue. Home IS riddled with problems, and some seem like they're trying really hard not to pick up on that. Pretending to be satisfied will not do Home or its community any good. Truedat. Here's a fun game, how many staff edits can we fit in one topic:

Note to Lithium: you can't code worth a damn. Learn to stick to one timezone for things, otherwise your forum software looks crappy and confusing. Actually, nevermind, it is crappy and confusing.

Note: I also tagged this post as "locked topic" because I'm willing to bet it will be not to long from now. UPDATE: It was.

Poor Frog Canadians (Part #2)

A day or so back I posted about Canadians losing their items. I stated the following:

Sorry to tell ya, but there's not shit you can do. The mods will not help you.
And after looking into my crystal ball, the topic has been moved by shungokusatsu to the Home Tech Support Graveyard. Our sympathy goes out to the poster of the topic. It's unfair that they refuse to help you. If we ever figure out a way to help you, we'll shoot you a message. Best of luck.

Home-Watch causes ban, sorry!

This was sent in via email:
Hey there! After you posted my email earlier, I got banned! Lol. Here's the message I saw shortly after you posted my story:
We're sorry, but you have been banned from using this site.
  • You have been banned for the following reason:

Violating the rules and policies of the community, with actions such as trolling. Your ban will last for 14 days effective 1-7-2010. Please do not attempt to evade your ban in any manner, as doing so will only serve to increase the length of your ban.

When your ban has expired, please refer to the Official Rules of Conduct and the New User Guide to review the rules and policies of the community. Additionally, please adhere to these rules and policies in the future, as future infractions will result in an extended or indefinite ban period.

  • You have 20152 minutes remaining on the ban.
guess I stepped on some toes too! And right after my ban (After logging out so I could view the forum) the same post had been modified by the same clown. It's so obvious it hurts.

-The[removed]
Sorry! That's terrible that they'd do that to you! I can't imagine a more childish over-reaction to such a small comment. I hope after your ban is up you'll return to the forums and keep posting, don't let them bully you.

shungokusatsu, you got toes, I will step.

In my email from a friend of mine:

Hey there [my name removed]! Wanna talk irony? I posted something, came here, read about shungokusatsu, went back to check on my post, and guess what? EDITED BY SHUNGOKUSATSU! Lol. I figured I'd shoot you the link and the text:

"mrdiamond666 wrote:

I hope you make it, but be prepared. I hope your nose is brown enough."
I came back and it read:
"I hope you make it, but be prepared.

Haw, he didn't delete it, he just removed the jab at the staff! BUSTED!

From,
The [removed]
(ps: feel free to use my name, I dont give a shit what they do to me TBH)
Thanks, even in email you make me laugh. Sorry about the mod abuse, I've posted your email for all to see. I think shungokusatsu is stepping on more toes then he can handle.

shungkusatsu strikes... again.

Another email:

This email is pretty much a follow up to an email you received (Sorry my friends don't like your post). I really enjoyed those threads and thought they were very unique and entertaining. When I no longer seen any more threads from the user I just thought they decided not to post those threads anymore. When I found out that the threads were moved I PMed the person who made the threads and asked them why they were moved. They told me the whole story so I decided to make a thread questioning the reason for moving the threads and asked if we were allowed to post any pics. Well my thread was up almost all day with only one generic response, the forum elites were too busy making fun of new home users on another thread. When I checked the forums later that evening I see that my thread had been deleted and I had received a message from a moderator, you will never guess who the mod was. To my surprise it was shungokusatsu, name sound familiar? (I never mentioned him or any moderator in my thread). Coincidence...I think not.
There is a serious problem on home and on the forums with favoritism among the mods,HMC and the home and forum elites. They can deny it all they want but everyone else sees it. There is no way to explain why my post was up on the forums all day then all of a sudden shungkusatsu comes along and deletes my thread, the same person who moved the other threads that I was asking about. One of his forum friends obviously did not like my post just like like they did not like the great threads that showed everyday users on home not the elites.
Thank you very much for your email! We have received a lot of email about this shungkusatsu fellow, and I've yet to see anything positive. Everything I get is very questionable, and always seems to point in the direction of promoting his friends while battling with people his buddies don't seem to like. I appreciate the email, and we will keep posting them if you keep writing them.

Sorry, My friends don't like your post.

I'm going to have to file this under the "bullshit" file. A mod by the name of shungokusatsu has recently decided that identical posts differ greatly when written by different people. From the following sent to me:

"I posted a few threads in the Playstation Home General forums. These took the form of comics describing my experiences in Home mean to illustrate why I think Home rules. It seems a few users had a big problem with my posts, namely virus-2049 and Jim777.

My final post, relating an experience I had in the Fight Night space with some users, was abruptly whisked away to what is called the Playstation Creative forum. I had never heard of such a forum. It has no connection to Home whatsoever.

The forum moderator who did this is shungokusatsu. I emailed the moderator, telling him that his actions didn't make sense and I found humiliating. My threads were about Home and should have been in the general forums, but shungokusatsu replied, when I asked:

"The Creations board is the correct locations for fan fics. You'll see there's other similar threads there as well."

I pointed out that I was puzzled because I posted four other similar threads, but only the final one was moved to the Creations forum and only after several users questioned it being there. shungokusatsu replied:

"All the content on the Creations board is and must be PlayStation related; it's strictly for PlayStation games and content. The thread being moved has absolutely nothing to do with users. It was moved to be placed in the correct location."

I again ask why only the final post was moved and not all of mine, or all of the other comic based threads I've seen (i.e. by Lil Blue Eyes), the mod replied:

"We've moved several similar threads like yours. Just take a look at the Creations board."

I asked him a third time why only one of mine was moved and not all of them. And the reason why I'm persuing this issue is because, if it's a "general policy," then it should apply equally to all mine and other's posts. The way it was handled, with only the final one being moved, looked like the mod responding to a personal request from certain favorite users. So, he replied to me:

"Weren't brought to my attention until you told me. It' also very likely they're no longer on the front or first few pages."

I finally confronted him about his evasiveness and told him that I'm entitled to an answer to my question. I put a lot of work into my posts and am hurt, angry and humiliated they are moved to a forum where nobody will likely see them. His response is:

"No, it means they're less likely to be viewed or reported to our attention. Most users frequent the front page, not the older ones. I've gone ahead and moved them since you've brought them to my attention."

shungokusatsu moved all my posts, which are about Home, from the Home forum to the Playstation General Forum. I tried to be more involved with the community on the official forums. But it seems I'm a threat to the ego-infused elite posters on that forum.

Humiliated even further. I read a post in the general forums today here: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3home&thread.id=868031

I asked shungokusatsu why mine were removed yet this one remains, he replied:

"Those are pictures of Home and an event, not a fanfic or user created story. The only content you had moved to the Creations board were the fanfics."

I pointed out to him that my posts were not fanfics, but were visual narratives of my experiences in Home. I told him bluntly that he's lying. He responded:

"A narrative story, story content falls under the Creations boards. You're more than welcome to confirm this with the head administrator, CronoEx, if you feel I'm lying."

Again, there is no difference between my posts and this one.
On behalf of the Home-Watch Community I'd like to thank the author for submitting her story. It took a lot of bravery to show everyone how she was singled out and humiliated by a part of the moderation staff. Kudos to you miss.
