Mortal Kombat 5, er II

Dear PSN: I'm unsure if it's due to none of you ever working in the game industry prior to being hired, or the fact that a five second wikia search is too much time out of your day, but any chance if you're going to advertise Mortal Kombat II you could use art from I dunno, MORTAL KOMBAT II? The art you're selling it with is the art from Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. That's the 5th game in the series. Perhaps you're recovering from the butthurt when Xbox 360 got Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3? Perhaps I should start PSN Watch?

Non-Caring mods, Importing Items, & Hypocrites

Going over the last few days of stupid stuff, here's some interesting stuff sent in:

So, you think that importing items are against the rules? Well, it is. Doesn't prevent home users from abusing rerouting techniques to get things from Japan. But is that limited to hackers and exploiters?

What you see above is CydoniaX, HCM staff. Who is that she's dancing with? A person with a suit that isn't available to North American users. So, while they are banning folks who abuse exploits and hack in items, they're still taking breaks to have fun with users who do the same thing. The difference? Personal relationships with users.

Here is CydoniaX once again, this time importing items herself. Wearing items not available in North America.

ChronosViper, a HCV, speaks of importing items. But importing them to not wear them of course.

SCEA: December Was PS3 And PSN's Best Month Ever

Via Kotaku:

The holidays were kind to the PlayStation Family, with the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Network bringing in more sales than ever before. The previously announced 1.7 million PS3s sold during the holidays aren't the only holiday milestone Sony's bragging about..

A statement from Patrick Seybold, Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior director of corporate communications and social media, notes that December 2009 was "the single highest selling month for PS3 hardware and software since its launch in the US," boasting a 90% increase in hardware sales, a 60% in software from the previous December.

And in terms of percentages that also confuse, the PlayStation Network had its "single highest revenue month, jumping 155% from December 2008 in North America." Sony says that Final Fantasy VIII was the most downloaded game of the month, with Q-Games' PixelJunk Shooter scoring the second place spot.

With NPD Group's monthly U.S. sales report due tomorrow, we're sure to have better comparisons for you so that you may more accurately fight the console war on each monolithic corporation's behalf.

SCEA: December Was PS3 And PSN's Best Month Ever

What does this mean? It means the PSN, which includes Home is making money. Lots of money. What does it mean for you? It means that they have the monetary resources to invest into Home. This includes, but isn't limited to: Fixing bugs. Hiring better staff. (Or at least some good staff on top of the bad ones they have) Obtaining more talented developers. List goes on for miles. Make sure to let them know we are aware of their income.
