- Jack Buser and the rest of the Home team stubbornly refuse to release any profit numbers. Since it's release ing 2008 there hasn't been one single mention of Home's value. This is very likely due to incredibly poor sales. Companies that produce video games do not do so silently when successful. They let the public know exact figures in an effort to draw users and developers.
- Less and less public interest. The only time you see Home mentioned on gaming sites is when a child is molested or raped because of it, or because they ran out of other topics and needed filler. And that filler is usually a constant stream of negative opinions. Also, you don't see gaming sites make mention of Home's updates.
- CydoniaX has been fired.... and no one has replaced her. If her position was needed or necessary, chances are it would be filled fairly quickly. The fact that they have decided to not fill that spot suggests they haven't the budget for her former position to remain.
- Insider information provided to this blog has pointed out that Home's production cost far outweighs it's income. Home's development teams, it's community teams, and other costs make Home very, very cost ineffective. If there is a profit, that profit is an incredibly small sliver.
- Advertisers and game developers have started to pull out. You'll see that ads running in Home run a very long time. That's due to the fact that ad space in Home is cheap. Much cheaper then you'd expect. Also the cost to have your game be marked in home with a public or private space is slight. Home is desperately attempting to bring in new content from developers, but cannot do so without the funding needed. Which is made up of micro-transactions. Hence the reason Home has been dumping new clothing on users more and more.
- Two years AFTER closed beta is closing in with no sign of the beta tag going away. This has become less a sign of development, and more a sign of eternal developmental purgatory. Home has had very little to no advancement in it's time on the PS3. Whereas games like little big planet have gotten entirely new features, new content, and constant support. Home has just now started to produce buggy and poorly made "active items" which aren't very exciting or noteworthy.
- Home takes extreme measures to hide it's quality. I recall a video a few months back talking about Home's massive advancement (i.e. bullshit) and how it had hundreds of games. I actually signed in recently and tried to tally it up and I still don't see a hundred games. Unless you include the fact that most everything you operate in Home states "play game," including activating the disco in Rachet & Clank's area. If clicking something to operate a game is a reality, I suggest you try Microsoft Window's built in game called "start menu."
- The PlayStation Portable was expected to receive it's own type of miniature Home, called "RooM." It was cancelled due to overwhelming negative opinion during beta testing. Which was very similar to Home's closed beta where everyone said it was bland and stupid.
- Recent test groups for a newer version of Home have failed. Users hated it so much that further test market research was canned.
- Sony has reported a 5 BILLION DOLLAR LOSS IN SIX MONTHS. Down from 12 million in January to 7 billion in June for a whopping 42% loss. Sony will have to take measures to resolve this, which will likely include the end of products that aren't very good or don't make money. Which Home is both.

Ten Signs Home is About to be Shitcanned
Oh man, this is turning into LOLz Festival 2010
Anyways, another guy comes in behind him, quite literally, and starts brown-nosing NARDE15 for his excellent brown-nosing, calling him "an awesome veteran closed beta tester." So now you have dual brown-nosing going on and things are starting to get hot and heavy. ADAMPwns comes in with some music and another dude asks "You're a Vet? Since When?". In which some other guy makes a snarky remark and tells the above person to "study up ;)".
Now that we're all up to speed, I present you with the following:
[*Note* this shot was taken before I posted it, obviously] So I kept an eye on the thread for a little while until i went to sleep. Just got home about an hour or so ago, go to check the thread and blamskee, perma-ban actiooonnn hahaha. I go into the forums anyways because, I'm Kapow and I do what I want, and check on that thread only to find that my criticizing RE had been deleted completely. Not really surprised at this point.
But I wonder, did they perma-ban my new account simply because of the name, or because I criticized their piece of shit "application", or....well, let's face it, that's Exactly why. I mean, I hadn't told anyone about that account up until now so there's no way they new it was me trying to "evade" my ban. I guess they don't give out warnings now either. They just profile people instead.
Anyways, hope this provided some entertainment for you guys like it did for me.

We all know the word, or name, 'home-watch' has long since been censored by Lithium and/or Sony (out of fear, no doubt). But this just made me l o l, so i thought I'd share it with you kind folks.

Conrad Max Owned... oh and bug report
This bug was first reported 1st July 2010 and continues to be frequently experienced by users inside the Midway space.Pretty clear bug report. In fact, this is one of the most exceptionally clear bug reports I've seen on this dead forum. And of course Conrad_Max stops in with his usual sage-like advice.Description: During a "Free Play" session, Midway often deducts a ticket from the player when it shouldn't.
Players who have purchased the Green Ticket report that they often lose a ticket during Free Play. Players whose token counter already reads "0" report seeing the counter become -1 (negative value). The bug appears to originate with a combination of latency effects (10 to 12+ seconds), occasionally truncated play time (lasting less than the 1 minute duration and related to a game queue crash), and the necessary completion of a queued user's play *after* the Free Play minute has officially "ended."
I have seen the bug specifically occur with Frog Flinger, Darla's Darts and Miz Fortune but it appears all the games are susceptible.
Persistence of this error is repeatable, especially with a slow network connection. I estimate paying players who participate in Free Plays over 8 hours will lose about 12-16 tickets out of 50 to this bug. It results in a significant loss of tickets. Please look into this. Thanks.
When I realised that this was happening, after two or three games, I just wouldn't play the free games while I still had tickets on me. I just wait until I run out of tickets.
Which the reply was... delicious. This is one of the most awesome and honest ownings I have ever been witnessed:
With reference to the previous Reported Error mentioned above:Conrad_Max 07-02-2010 01:43 AM (link: Re: Midway Carnival Rip off)
[...] I did purchase the tickets and I won many prizes. We don't have to buy the tickets, but it sure speeds things up. The atmosphere in The Midway was very much like a carnival.
After the space was fully loaded, everything seemed to run smoothly. I had no issues with the space other than when a free game was avauilable, I ended up using some of my tickets. A minor problem and one I can easily avoid. The games were fun and even challenging. Just like a videogame. [...]
I find the disingenuous nature of that response, and other comments along the lines of "Just buy a ticket, it's only a dollar and sure speeds thing up," to be highly disturbing. It is disturbing given you yourself noticed the ticket-loss error at the time, but still claimed that it was "not an error" and that there were "no tech issues to hamper my enjoyment of the games in the space."
Hello?? Only the most contorted logic can explain away this bug as a 'feature' that "works as advertised."
Avoiding the free plays while in possession of tickets is an obvious user-based solution, yes. But that does NOT excuse the existence of this error, which is a serious bug given that I have seen it occur in about 25-50% of my free plays. If we are in the space and see a flashing Free Play notification occur for a game right beside us, should we not reasonably expect that the game will actually be free?
Penalizing those who have actually invested in the space by buying tickets is not good business.
The matter is all the more significant given that some users say they have already spent $20+ in Midway but won only about 40 of the available rewards. This happens while playing both paid AND Free Plays.
Completing Midway requires a dedicated investment in both time and money, so an attrition (ticket loss) rate of even 25% of one's purchase is a serious problem for a lesser-skilled player. The Free Plays would have been an excellent way to manage and extend one's budget... *IF* they were actually free.
Strategically, there are certain games with such a difficult learning curve (Ball Squeezer, Rebound) that I had no intention of ever using tickets on them. Rather my intent was to use the Free Plays in order to figure them out-- and to be pleasantly surprised if I did manage to beat a level. The fact that I now have to avoid these games entirely while in the space is not acceptable. The fact that I cannot actually save my tickets to strategically spend them only on certain levels (for example, on levels 1-3, 8-9 of High Roller which require angled power shots) is likewise not a desirable situation.
Obama was not invited to Chelsea Clinton's wedding
This weekend will be the best ever weekend for Chelsea Clinton ,after she is getting married. But one thing shock everyone a little bit because, where Chelsea Clinton is getting married this weekend, here's one less thing the Secret Service will eagerly need to think about. US President Barack Obama told to ABC's The View, which aired on Thursday that,'"I was not invited to the wedding'.Barack Obama also said that,' I think Hillary and Bill interested to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband'. And that'll work out well for everybody at Saturday's ceremony,Obama told with a smiley face. However,Later,Barack Obama admitted that it was nothing but a joke.-a report from MSNBC.

Did you know about the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation?
While at last month’s Blogging While Brown Conference, I met Muriel Hairston-Cooper from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Mrs. Hairston-Cooper is the Senior Media Manager for the organization. Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, nonpartisan public policy, research and educational institute. They complete their mission by building a bridge between legislators, business leaders, minority-focused organizational leaders, and organized labor to bring change to African American communities. They also provide scholarships and internships to African American students. The organization is supported by fundraising events and corporate underwriting. What I distinctly remember about our conversation, was how insistent she was in explaining that they are separate from the Congressional Black Caucus.
And because of a New York Times article from earlier this year, it’s not a surprise that she feels the need to make the distinction. The article talked about how the “Congressional Black Caucus” was a money making powerhouse. The article alluded to the organization raising tons of money and not using it for its intended purposes. If you never knew anything about this organization, you would have thought they were gaming the system based on what you read. The writer of the article lumped all the CBC’s (i.e. Congressional Black Caucus Institute, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and Congressional Black Caucus) together and in doing so made them one entity. I asked Mrs. Hairston-Cooper if they ever tried to get the situation cleared up. She said they sent a letter to the New York Times telling them to look at their IRS Tax Form 990 (form for tax-exempt organizations). She said they told them that their story was accurate and they were sticking to it. I didn’t laugh on the phone when she told me this because I didn’t want to offend her. But the mainstream media isn’t into accuracy (a la Shirley Sherrod). I’m pretty sure the NY Times has better resources to obtaining organizational records. So if they wanted to they could do their due diligence.....if they wanted to.
Side Note: I googled the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and 990 Tax Form. See here.
I asked Mrs. Hairston-Cooper if this incident has taught her organization anything. She told me that it made them more aggressive in telling their story. The organization spent roughly $700.000 for last year’s Annual Legislative Conference. The money was used for catering costs such as their prayer breakfast and luncheons. The money they raised went to their internship program and fellowships. These programs involve room, board and stipends.
Side Note: You can see their interns first hand in the upcoming September issue of Ebony Magazine.
In 2008, the CBCF came to Charlotte, NC with their Black Health Empowerment Project Tour. The theme of the tour was “Eat, Move and Test for Health.” The tour educated African American’s on the chronic diseases that come from being overweight. Obesity is a big (no pun intended) problem that many American’s have. From conversations I hear often, obesity seems to be a prevalent condition with black folks. One fellow blogger talked about how it was an ongoing problem with black women (via their perception). Even First Lady Michelle Obama has taken up the fight for healthy eating. I don’t agree with every black organization that claims to have my best interests at heart (I’m talking about you NAACP!!!). But I do appreciate when organizations take the time out to explain what they stand for. That is something that I have respect for because some people won’t do that much. Please feel free to check out the CBCF website for more information.

More insider information
Via Email:
Home is NOT profitable despite Abuser's latest PR bullshit propaganda. The biz model may be a profitable one...anyone in the gaming/virtual world industry knows that microtransactions are EASY money. Keep pumping out those virtual shoes and idiots will buy them! HOWEVER...that doesn't make a dent of different to Home's PNL..bottom line, etc. (PNL = Profit & Loss) It costs millions to run Home. Any money they make is dependent upon virtual item and personal space sales, as well as all those tacky promotions they do, like the stupid Criss Angel thing for A&E. My sources told me Promotions at Sony have already pulled out most of the promised money for Home because it's not getting enough traffic. So unless the virtual swag sales are enough to cover the costs of a whole dev team in London, the inflated salaries of Jack, kdel, and the other aholes running SCEA, and production costs...ain't NO WAY Home will be profitable by Q4 of this year, if ever. And if it's not....here come the axe.Hmmm, looks like Home could be on it's way out. WTF will I do then? Perhaps I'll start a blog devoted to raising indoor tropical plants. Or perhaps a fishing lure blog. Choices, choices.

Playstation Plus - Don't do it!
- Any DLC you download as a Plus member is forfeited when you terminate the membership.
- Any games you download as a Plus member is forfeited when you terminate the membership.
- There are no options to not auto-renew. To prevent being charged you must manually cancel your account.
- Plus has options to do "automatic updates of firmware." Played off like true scam artists, this has never been an issue for anyone. The only reason to add this bullshit feature is to continue Sony's backdoor policy of controlling the user's machine.
- From the PSN Plus site: "There will be select opportunities to experience advance demos, download exclusive items, and throw your cash down for early purchases, leaving lesser gamers to eat your VIP dust." Translation: If you're not paying for this extra crap you'll be excluded from further beta testing, and you're a huge pussy.
Playstation Plus is a scam.
New Active Item Request
Someone smarter than myself sent me a great one liner email:
Subject: you know what home needs?
rape whistles
And I agree. I'd like to see someone make an honest request for such an item. If someone could pass this along in the "suggested item" topic of the month that would be most appreciated.

Oh…poor Shirley Sherrod, you forgot that America isn’t ready for the truth.
The Obama Administration has just jettisoned another black employee from their ranks. Shirley Sherrod, former United States Department of Agriculture Director of Rural Development in Georgia, was given the boot after remarks at an NAACP banquet. Now the White House will tell you that she resigned but I can guarantee that she wasn’t planning on quitting her job when she went to work today. Journalist extraordinaire Andrew Breitbart provided the video tape that caused the firing. You might remember him from his handy work with taking down Acorn with a fake white pimp.
For full disclosure: I have used videos from his site on my blog.
Apparently Sherrod was videotaped talking to the NAACP about a job she held two decades ago with the Federation of Southern Cooperative/Land Assistance Fund. She talked about how a white male farmer was rude to her and because of that she didn’t do her best in helping him. Her exact quote - “I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do.” She later admitted that the incident “opened her eyes.” And that she realized that we need to move beyond race. Again from her own mouth - "The story helped me realize that race is not the issue, it's about the people who have and the people who don't."
Well before the close of business she was out of a job and pundits were giving their two cents on the subject. Unfortunately none of us had enough information to make an intelligent decision. What we received was half a video tape with half the story. We missed what Sherrod was trying to say about how her views on race have evolved. All we saw and heard was - “I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do.” Instead of her speech in complete context we received an edited version. Whatever happened to investigative journalism? Oh well, it wasn’t hard to figure out what happened next.
The mainstream media debated the story without all of the information (which they stupidly admitted to) –
The NAACP denounced her without all of the information (when she was speaking at an NAACP event) –
“Since our founding in 1909, the NAACP has been a multi-racial, multi-faith organization that– while generally rooted in African American communities– fights to end racial discrimination against all Americans. We concur with US Agriculture Secretary Vilsack in accepting the resignation of Shirley Sherrod for her remarks at a local NAACP Freedom Fund banquet. Racism is about the abuse of power. Sherrod had it in her position at USDA. According to her remarks, she mistreated a white farmer in need of assistance because of his race. We are appalled by her actions, just as we are with abuses of power against farmers of color and female farmers. Her actions were shameful. While she went on to explain in the story that she ultimately realized her mistake, as well as the common predicament of working people of all races, she gave no indication she had attempted to right the wrong she had done to this man. The reaction from many in the audience is disturbing. We will be looking into the behavior of NAACP representatives at this local event and take any appropriate action. We thank those who brought this to our national office’s attention, as there are hundreds of local fundraising dinners each year. Sherrod’s behavior is even more intolerable in light of the US Department of Agriculture’s well documented history of denying opportunities to African American, Latino, Asian American, and Native American farmers, as well as female farmers of all races. Currently, justice for many of these farmers is being held up by Congress. We would hope all who share our outrage at Sherrod’s statements would join us in pushing for these cases to be remedied. The NAACP will continue to advance the ideals of America and fight for freedom, justice and fairness for all Americans.”
NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous issued the above statement.
The United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (who is less qualified than Sherrod for his current position but I digress….) accepted *wink* *wink* Sherrod’s resignation –
“Yesterday, I asked for and accepted Ms. Sherrod’s resignation for two reasons. First, for the past 18 months, we have been working to turn the page on the sordid civil rights record at USDA and this controversy could make it more difficult to move forward on correcting injustices. Second, state rural development directors make many decisions and are often called to use their discretion,” he said. “The controversy surrounding her comments would create situations where her decisions, rightly or wrongly, would be called into question making it difficult for her to bring jobs to Georgia.”
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack issued the above statement.
Sherrod’s only relief was the woman whose husband she was supposed to have discriminated against. Say What?! Yes!! Eloise Spooner, the wife of the farmer that was allegedly discriminated against, came to her defense and said that she kept them from losing their land. She also called Sherrod “a friend for life.” So a woman was fired for discriminating against a man that she ended up helping?? To make matters worse. Glenn Beck came out in support of Sherrod. When an online title for a story says WTF? Glenn Beck Defends Shirley Sherrod- It's Possible "This Woman Deserves Her Job Back" Sherrod either needs to slit her wrists or start drinking heavily.
Yesterday I blamed Sherrod for this misstep (with only half of the info provided to me by the mainstream media) and I have to apologize for that. She isn’t a career politician like most of Obama’s appointments. You know, people that tell you what they think you want to hear because they are trying to get your vote. She was trying to be truthful and honest and tell her story. Too bad that she didn’t realize that Conservative forces were pissed off at the NAACP and were looking for payback. So for telling the truth she got canned. And to add insult to injury the NAACP retracted their previous statement denouncing Sherrod. Ben Jealous new statement says the NAACP was “snookered by Fox News and Tea Party Activist Andrew Breitbart into believing she had harmed white farmers because of racial bias.” The NAACP reminds me of the “Yugo.” When they send literature to my house I just throw it in the trash. Sherrod was speaking at an NAACP banquet. How did Fox News trick them when they were in the audience? Everybody at the banquet and headquarters needs to fall off a cliff!! What about the journalists that went on national television debating a doctored tape as if it were the gospel? Whatever happened to fact checking? Rushing to be the first person to deliver the story is reckless and irresponsible. If Roland Martin spent more time investigating the facts instead of sending out tweets about the celebrity parties he is attending, maybe we could have the real story. And add the fact that the Obama Administration runs from racial issues like Usain Bolt at the Olympics. So this woman never stood a chance. And how did Senator Robert Byrd get to keep his job when he admitted to being in the Klu Klux Klan. Does forgiveness and redemption only extend to career politicians? U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who is being called to resign for something the Bush Administration did, was right about one thing. This country is a “nation of cowards” when it comes to discussing race.

Problem with Home
According to this topic:
I was standing in the WipEout space with friends when I noticed people coming up moving their arms but no text showing, I first thought they on my block list but soon every other person in the whole space started doing the same thing(I could see what my friends typed) , going to my apartment and returning didn't change anything. I restarted Home and when I got back in, my friends list on navigator says no friends, and was the same in pda, but my friends were still on XMB list, the original problem with not seeing what everyone typed remained what can be the cause and a possible fix, thanks. And of course the first fucking reply is directions to uninstall and reinstall home. Shocker.

How the Mainstream Media sponsored Eliot Spitzer’s comeback.
The Mainstream Media (MSM) loves an underdog. They love people that have fought through adversity. They believe it gives American’s that “If they can do it so can I” type feeling. Whether you are fighting dogs, breaking into another political party’s office or cheating on your spouse you can be forgiven. Although there are certain things you will never be forgiven for (senseless killings and anything involving the harming of children). So it’s not a surprise to see disgraced former New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer getting a television show. MSNBC gave him his first start on the comeback trail by re-introducing him to the public. I guess he fancied himself as some sort of political expert and that was enough for him to put his two cents in. I could tell “Morning Joe” co-host Mika “maven of morality” Brzezinski was tight faced when Spitzer started talking. I guess some women are still upset over his whole having sexual relations with a call girl thing. Some guys play golf and others bowl. I guess he needed a hobby because being Governor must be stressful. Well people didn’t complain loud enough when he came on MSNBC so they kept bringing him back. I didn’t see or hear about people standing outside of the network protesting. I guess they only save the picket signs for animal abusers and abortion clinics. I knew it was only a matter of time before Spitzer would be back on the scene. I just didn’t know how. But as we now know, we didn’t have to wait long for the answer.
Side Note: I personally could care less about him cheating on his wife. If she decided to stay with him, that’s on her. It’s none of my business how he conducts his marriage. They might have a lot of vested years that they didn’t want to lose.
Ratings challenged CNN has decided to revive Spitzer’s career by giving him co-hosting duties with a conservative columnist on a TBA (to be announced) program. The program will be taking over the former Campbell Brown 8pm time slot. You remember the snooze fest that Campbell Brown hosted don’t you? Yeah, me neither! I think she was trying to follow Katie Couric’s footsteps but ended up not being able to hold her jock strap but I digress….. Some folks actually thought that Roland Martin was going to get a show at the 8pm time slot….ha ha ha. Only a seasoned comedian or a coked up crack head could tell a funnier joke. In case you haven’t noticed CNN doesn’t have big plans for Roland Martin (hence the title “CNN Contributor” that the network gave him). And it’s not that Martin isn’t hustling because he had a radio show, has books, a blog and another show on TVOne. It’s just that by the MSM standards he is not that popular/cool/well know/ or whatever reason they come up with. Mark Halperin has one bestseller book and MSNBC named him “Senior Political Analyst.” Now granted Halperin has been around since the late 90’s but the hustle is not as prevalent as Martins. The National Association of Black Journalists has complained about the whiteness in television news programs with this recent hire. Or as the MSM hears when the NABJ talks to them…blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Even white women are complaining about white men getting too much play. Too bad Rachel Sklar used “The Daily Beast” to make her complaint. Not even the founder of the on-line website can tell you how many blacks work there. TV isn’t the only place where minorities are losing out.
It's actually quite hilarious if you think about it. The same media that tore Spitzer down is now building him back up. I guess the MSM has decided that they will be the sole controllers of famous peoples’ careers. If they like you, then they will smother you with heaps and praises (i.e. John McCain before he ran for President in 2008). If they don’t like you, then you are going to have a rough time (i.e. Rev Jeremiah Wright talking about America on American soil). Spitzer should be somewhere working on making his marriage stronger and “hooker proof”. Instead he is taking promo shots for his soon to be t.v. show. Sure Spitzer is taking this opportunity away from a seasoned journalist (no matter the color). On the other hand he does have the charisma to pull it off. The man never met a camera he didn’t like. I guess it’s another situation where diversity proponents, white women (that don’t have access) and all the black weekend anchors on CNN will sit around pissed off. Is any of it fair? Probably not! We don’t live in a fair society. We live in a society where there are gatekeepers and people trying to get through the gates. It’s just another day where the people that call the shots are taking the shots too.

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION
可惜不是你.
Columnist Ron Stodghill doesn’t know what he wants to write about.
Side Note: for full disclosure, Damian Johnson is my Frat Brother and we pledged in the same undergrad chapter.
On June 19, 2010, Stodghill wrote a glowing article about the Johnson Brothers. It talked about how they are making a big splash in Charlotte with their Urban Business Network. It was an informative article that should have been inspiring to future and current minority business owners.
On July 7, 2010, Stodghill wrote an article complaining about the Johnson Brothers logo for their business. He said the “logo has got to go.”
His exact words –
“Perhaps you've encountered No Grease's logo, the bug-eyed, black-faced caricature inspired by those dehumanizing minstrel shows of yesteryear.”
So what happened in almost three weeks time that made the Johnson’s go from hero’s to bums? Stodghill should have talked about his dislike for the logo in the first article. To do another article just to get a gripe off your chest is a waste of white space. The second article practically negated everything that was positive about the first one. I can’t tell if he was being sneaky or honest. I’m not bothered that Stodghill has a problem with their logo. It is a bit hard to take when you first put eyes on it. I have a problem with him “going in” on them after the fact. It made his point look petty and unnecessary. He could have included his dislike in the beginning and still produced a “fair and balanced” article. In a day and age where newspapers are strapped for cash and struggling for readers, journalists are going to have to do better.

We got your back nigga!
Hey,Sorry to hear that nigga! I once got suspended for hate speech because I said "Let me bend over and take it in my ass like a fruit." I was horsing around with people I know outside the boundaries of others view. However a mod saw it I assume and bam. Hate speech. Not knowing what the fuck I did when I received this suspension, I called the tech support line and forced the guy to tell me exactly what I said. It was funny to hear him recite that exact line back to me, since my suspension happened like 3 days later. I forgot I even said it. I don't think "fruit" is really hate speech, same as nigga. It's all in perspective. Hate speech is reserved for... well, people who hate.
I just tried to sign into my PSN account to find I have been suspended. I called Sony to find out what I had been suspended for, and they told me that I was quote "performing a 'hate-speech' on July 2nd". I found this hard to believe. When I picture a 'hate-speech', I think of someone standing on a soap-box spewing hateful ideas or views towards a particular race, sexual orientation, religion, etc. I asked Sony's representative to elaborate what happened on the incident in question. They said I used a 'v' in the word fuck to bypass their filters, for that I am guilty although that is hardly suspension-worthy. But the funnier part of this so-called "hate-speech" was the part where they said I was calling people "niggers". Now, I have never called anyone a 'nigger', I am an African-American and I use the word 'nigga'. I am sure that with today's popular culture, you are probably very familiar with the similarity and the difference in the 2 words. When an African-American refers to another African-American as 'nigga', it is the equivalent of using the words 'dude', 'brother', 'friend',("That's my nigga"), or if you use it in a different way it can be the same as 'person' ("That nigga's crazy"). We both know what the word 'nigger' means, so we won't get into that.
Looking back at this whole hate-speech thing makes me remember the countless times I dressed my avatar up as an Arab man. When I signed into Home as an Arab male, I was appalled. I was bashed by everyone, male and female, young and old, noob trolls and well dressed veterans. They bashed me for being a Muslim, insulted my faith, my culture, they stalked me, some even sent me messages through my XMB even after I signed off of Home! I reported them multiple times via the in-home select button deal, I sent messages via the XMB to the Community managers, I was so fvcking offended. I got not one apology from anyone, not a message back, nothing, just more abuse when I went onto Home as that particular avatar.
So now they banned me from signing into their network because I wasn't talking like I would talk to my Grandmother. I made no "hate-speech", maybe I used a little inappropriate language at times, but it was far from a hate-speech. As a Muslim, they assaulted the core of my existence, my faith, countless times and I feel they should be held accountable for letting that behavior go unchecked while I get hammered on for using a couple inappropriate words they want to jumble around and call a hate-speech.
If you want to go on a little experiment again (I remember somewhere you were going to assume the role of a teenage girl), you should dress up as an Arab man, go on home and feel the pain and persecution of what an American Muslim must go through. The hateful and downright offensive things home mods will slip under the rug will astound you. I'm never signing back into Home again, when my suspension is lifted I'm deleting the application and creating a new account.
I remember reading somewhere on this blog "Sony is this generation's Sega", I think that hits the nail on the head and after their bullshit "10 year ps3 life-cycle" is complete we will be playing Sony games on Nintendo and XBox. They better pray Apple don't feel like jumping into the game world, we'll be using those Sony 3d game discs as coasters. "Make-Believe", yea, make believe your ships not sinking Sony!!!
Everybody loves the new reverse black codes. Well..except those that are dead from gun violence.
If you think that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has recently found a soft spot for black folks, think again. His recent statement on gun rights has been receiving the *side eye* from some black folks. Any other time he is telling blacks to stop blaming the white man for their problems. But now he wants blacks to stay “armed up” to protect themselves from white men? Someone should tell Thomas to wait until Halloween to dress up as Nat Turner. He’s a little early for disguises…
The 2nd Amendment - A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Sure it sounds easy enough when you read it. And it makes you actually wonder what all the fuss is about. But it appears that everyone wants to own the amendment for their own purpose (sorta like the Lebron James sweepstakes). I personally don’t have a problem with people owning guns. I owned a BB gun growing up. My parents ended up punishing me for pointing it at someone and I did shoot at this dude but those are minor details.
My personal opinion:
Pro Gun people have a right to own guns with the exception of all paramilitary style weapons. Hand Guns, Rifles, Shotguns are all cool and I support anyone that wants to own them. But to be completely Rambo’d out with the kind of equipment the “A – Team” used is a bit much. And if you belong to a Militia what is your sole purpose? Are you going around doing charity work and community service? Or are you waiting for the Russians to parachute into Calumet, Colorado to occupy the town?
Gun Control advocates have a right to ask for tougher laws in order to curb gun violence in the streets. Some neighborhoods are full of criminals and pre-criminals that will do anything to get what they want. Children in these neighborhoods live in fear because of the violence. But people in these neighborhoods still need to protect themselves. The police can’t be everywhere all the time. If someone breaks into your home, you might need a lil sumthin sumthin to keep them from doing damage. REAL TALK: Sometimes you need a “Roscoe” (For my Caucasian readers - A “Hood” term used for a handgun/ sidearm/firearm) to help you when you are in a jam.
One of the issues with gun laws is the racial component. People try to skirt the issue but it’s out in the open for anyone who wants to see it. The NRA and Gun Advocates just don’t care about the senseless violence that goes on in “The Hood.” It’s like the crack epidemic from the 80’s. When crack cocaine was in the ghetto running rampant no one cared. That is until the suburban kids started getting their noses dirty with cocaine. If you do a poll on NRA membership, I bet you won’t find too many members that live in the projects. Even Al Capone would shake his head at the number of murders in Chicago now. Things are so bad that politicians wanted to call in the National Guard. Should the NRA find this disturbing…sure! But will they…no! They see this as an attack on their rights. False campaigns waged against President Obama saying he is going to take away all the guns. Foolishness!! Obama’s hometown is littered with Guns. His Presidency hasn’t stopped guns from getting off the streets so the suburb and rural areas should be just fine.
I can’t believe as educated as this country claims to be, we can’t find a fair solution that makes all sides happy. Strict gun laws shouldn’t mean honest citizens can’t buy fire arms. The laws would be to keep dishonest citizens from purchasing fire arms. But if you even mention gun control, you will be labeled a gun-grabber. It’s a never ending case of the dog chasing its tail or is it the tail chasing the dog? So Clarence Thomas was right about blacks being able to have the right to defend themselves. But not from the Reconstruction era whites that were hateful towards blacks. The biggest threat of gun violence against blacks comes from other blacks.

george steinbrenner dead
Born on the Fourth of July, George Steinbrenner left the world stage with a great sense of timing too.
According to multiple reports, Steinbrenner -- who turned 80-years old on July 4th -- was rushed to St. Joseph's hospital in Tampa where he was later pronounced dead.
Steinbrenner's death Tuesday came during an unplanned year-long gap in the estate tax, the first since it was enacted in 1916. Political wrangling has stalemated efforts in Congress to replace the tax that expired in 2009.
Steinbrenner -- a U.S. Navy veteran -- retired from running the Yankees in 2006 ... leaving his sons Hank and Hal to run the team.
Since Steinbrenner took over the team in 1973, the Yankees locked up 11 pennants and 7 World Series titles.
The rep said, "Funeral arrangements will be private. There will be an additional public service with details to be announced at a later date."

Woahhh, we cannot seperate~
More insider information
Via Email:
More dirt about Jack: last year he either dumped his wife (or vice versa) for being a coke-fueled party girl and gained sole custody of their daughter. Any appearances of the 2 of them before any of this happened made it clear that she thought he was a huge dork and sick of him. So none of this came as a big surprise. But around the time of his divorce is when he started acting extra-crazy on the job. He tried really hard to block GlassWalls, largely considered to be the best CM Home has, from being hired to Cyd's team probably because he is as prejudiced against gay people as women. It was also his idea to hire BuggieTechnica, the worst Home employee ever, who was ultimately fired for being a whiny bitch and hanging out on game forums all day, among numerous other offenses.
Katherine de Leon was an INTERN and former community manager (ha!) at Linden Lab only 3 years ago. How she managed to get the keys to the Home kingdom and fly around all over the country spinning her bullshit propaganda about Home is anyone's guess. She is nepotistic and hires all her best friends since they are the only people who can tolerate her....even some of them are looking to leave since she is such a horrible boss. Her latest hire was a woman whose virtual world development company failed and went bankrupt. Awesome choice. The 2 of them have a barely-concealed lesbo relationship and are plotting ways to be able to sleep with each other without getting in trouble with HR. Too bad "kdel" recently married a beard.
Not sure if this type of personal gossip is what you're looking for, but it sure is fucking entertaining, isn't it? Obvs I'm not going to get the true insider info about when exactly Home will self-destruct, but I'm sure it's not long now.
