Well... the iPhone will never dominate market share against Android. It simply never will. You can get Android on many devices from many manufacturers. If market share is your measure of success... Google has it.
Despite that... Apple sold 34 million iPhones in the last 6 months... and there were plenty of rockstar Android phones someone could have bought instead. The iPhone brought Apple $12 Billion in revenue last quarter alone... is Apple really in trouble?
And... Verizon is just one carrier out of 100 on this planet. It was inevitable that an iPhone would go to Verizon... but it's a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the world.
I said "iPhone dominate smartphone market". What you mentioned is iOS vs Android. They're completely different.
If Apple did not have VZ iPhone, they will have 0 share outside GSM phone. Apple want the market share to translate into profit.
Apple is a company who's profit comes, mostly, from selling hardware. So market share of product matters to Apple. Google, on the other side, cares more on OS market share. As long as iPhone still win the "phone market", not the OS market share, Apple will do well.

lol. you have a huge boulder on your shoulder.
I find callousness, and claiming to know something as a "fact", when there is no possible way to know that, to be reprehensible. If that is a boulder on my shoulder, so be it.

I made the mistake of turning on the TV news thinking I'd learn something about turmoil in the middle east. No, the news covered Charlie Sheen, Charlie Sheen, and more Charlie Sheen. My mistake.

It's a great step. I can't imagine needing more speed than a Thunderbolt connection, for the next decade, IMO. Most people don't specifically need such speed, but it is good to have. As for professional use for large files and video editing: boffo. Looks brilliant.

We should also know that the depreciated dollar helps exporters like Apple tremendously.
sigh...Apple exports from China and imports to America. Just another reason not to buy AAPL.

Photoshop Elements 4.0 is a capable replacement for Photoshop CS2 for a lot of people, even professionals. It depends on what you're doing with it.
Your sort of re-iterrating what I was saying. iWork is to Office as Elements is to CS2. For some people it is good enough, it is the 70% functionality that most consumers use. But saying it is better, or that it replaces the pro app is just wrong.
Pages 2 is a useful release but it's not final. To discount it or iWork totally is not reasonable.
I never discounted anything. If you read my post again you will see that I said Pages V1 was a lame duck app. Version 2 is a nice little product as is the $79 iWork package. But Pages is not a professional replacement of Word and iWork is not a professional replacement of Office. It is not intended to be that way. iWork is a consumer oriented package and is trying to be on par with say "AppleWorks" or "MS Works"
I realize that some people will be more content with a consumer version and will recommend it as a replacement. But that still doesn't give it the same functionality of the Professional app.

DailyTech reports (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3475) that a filing with the Federal Communications Commission reveals that Apple has developed a Bluetooth (wireless) version of its Mighty Mouse (http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/), otherwise identical to the current model and its touch-sensitive cover, Scroll Ball, and force-sensing side buttons.
The new Mighty Mouse uses two standard AA batteries and will be compatible with OS X 10.4.6 and later. No release date is set for the new Bluetooth Mighty Mouse -- currently codenamed M6, but judging from the FCC filing, the new mouse should arrive soon.
MacRumors recently received word that Apple repair technicians and phone support had been briefed on how to deal with the new hardware, indicating a release may be imminent. The Mighty Mouse was introduced (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2005/08/20050802094256.shtml) in August 2005.
Update: According to a picture of a preliminary product manual obtained by AppleInsider (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1909), the new wireless Mighty Mouse will use Laser tracking in place of the Optical tracking system the current USB Mighty Mouse uses. Laser-based mice typically are more accurate and less prone to errors on extremely smooth surfaces.

The UV protection necessary for the white iPhone didn't come out of thin air. The added thickness was likely to provide an additional layer of protection. I'd be curious to see its innards, which is no doubt just around the corner. C'mon iFixit, rip it apart!

"Readers should realize that while Apple continues to publish patents on technologies that never make it into shipping products, the concepts described in this patent were referenced by Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou in June 2006:"
What other patents does apple have in which they didn't make the product?

I'm a little confused. People want to play games on this?
Would not be my first choice for gaming (not that I play games, but I did do flight sims once)
Is there anything else I should be concerned about? Maybe external monitor resolution? Movies?....I don't think so.
Big problem for intensive video stuff perhaps? but then again; an Air?

Will it be a cinema display with receiver?
Id love to see a new standard for "HD". 1440p would be nice...but current media would have to catch up. That said, I dont think Apple could make a cost effective television. Sorry, but theyd sell a 42inch TV for 2000.000 easy.

Microsoft is denying it is true. Being that they need the record labels to sign off on their music store, I doubt they'd infringe on already set licenses and risk a music business revolt.

I'm planning on heading to the Game Farm (like a zoo run by the Department of Fish and Wildlife) tomorrow morning, so hopefully I will have a bunch of new stuff to share.

Amazon charges its cloud service too. Why should Apple give anything away for free?
I guess the point is that the base service should be free. I don't demand that from Apple but storing 2GB worth of 'my songs' should be free.
