Celebrity OOPS: Robert Plant and Drug Counselor go head to head on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride; Collide, totaling Mercedes SL 300 and Audi A8

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame has crashed and totaled his luxury sports car in an ironic twist of Rock Star fate. The collision brought two speeding vehicles head to head on winding back roads of England in what surely must have looked like a scene from "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" -- you remember... the Walt Disney ride and exhibit that angry Christians and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers made the theme park close down for promoting excessive speed in cars, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, and driving under the influence as Mr. Toad got his game face on and whipped around the dark and seedy London areas and stoned countryside?



ROBERT PLANT OF LED ZEPPELIN INVOLVED IN SERIOUS CAR ACCIDENT

The Led Zeppelin Examiner at Examiner.com writes,

According to publications in the United Kingdom like The Sun and The Telegraph, Robert Plant was in a car accident with a drugs counselor in northwest London.

The counselor, one Richard Grant, was driving his Mercedes SL 300 when it collided with Plant’s Audi A8 on the evening of July 2. It is uncertain who was at fault for the smash.

Drug counselor Grant is quoted as saying, "I was unconscious for a little while and then I saw him standing there. I was pretty groggy when I saw him, but later on the officers told me who it was," Grant said.

"I went to hospital for five hours and luckily there were no broken bones, but I was badly bruised on the arm and had whiplash.”

When asked about the accident and the state of the cars, Grant said, "My Merc is smashed up and I'm not in a good way."

If the driver is hurt for real, let's hope he does not sue Plant. Maybe he could sign his cast and wrecked car to turn the automobile into a classic Led Zeppelin memorabilia item he could sell instead of being litigious and hiring ambulance chaser lawyers to help him pull a penny away from the unlucky celeb.

More so, we hope that Mr. Plant himself is not injured seriously and is doing well.

ODD NEWS: IRONIC TWIST

Sadly, I did not see Robert Plant standing over my last car accident appearing as Jesus or the Rock God that he is... so in this writer's opinion, Grant should consider himself fortunate to be hit in this "Celebrity OOPS" accident and to meet the star like he did.

Of all the people in the world to collide into a famous drug user, this counselor certainly must have had his subconscious radar on to find the rock-n-roll icon so well remembered for his use of drugs, with many of the preferred ones being marijuana, LSD, psychedelic mushrooms, and really high quality coke. Talk about a way to create a bonding experience story to help set your patience at ease when you are doing psych work with them...

[The band even hired a 'Cocaine Lady' to travel with them on tour back in the stone ages of 1960s and 1970s rock history. That was even a Celebrities Gone Wild maneuver back in the day when excessive partying was part of common culture for many people everyday.]

Celebrity OOPS: Transformers bad boy Shia LaBoeuf involved in alcohol related car accident

Think the sweet and innocent looking geek co-star to super gorgeous Transformers and Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen starlet Megan Fox is as meek and mild in real life as the films made him look? NOT.

Did 'Transformers' actress Megan Fox win role by washing producer Michael Bay's Ferrari (seriously)?

As you know, the young star of Transformers was recently in a car accident where it was later discovered that he had alcohol in his system. The accident left him with a severe hand injury that he still hasn't recovered from. Shia was seen driving the scooter with a bandaged hand! Rock and roll!

We're liking Shia LaBoeuf for his ability to stay strong under pressure and keep the Foxy Fox entertained during filming of the visually stunning yet slightly boring sci-fi film series.

Could his bad-boy streak be what helped the pair bond as friends on the set? Megan has self reported a wild streak and rebellious teenage years on numerous occasions, and there's a good chance the dynamic duo have such good chemistry starting on screen thanks to that mutual affection for things that are a bit naughty, avant guard, and wicked.

We'll hope that Shia is a righty and not a lefty -- and think a positive thought for a speedy and pain free recovery. Cheers to big summer blockbuster bad B movie hits, rising talent, and to more LaBoeuf and Megan Fox success without a whole lot of further CELEBRITY OPPS moments that create speculation or controversy.

Celebrity OOPS: Big boy ‘Terminator’ Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger buys tiny Tesla Roadster

In my opinion, the hottest sports car making headway in the green exotics market right now that is the most fun to drive is the newly converted Lotus Elise being retro-manufactured by the inspired and inspiring car company Tesla. However, the car body itself presents some serious ergonomic and spacial challenges to many individuals who would otherwise love to drive a hot little exotic.

Take the "Terminator" California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, for example. He, who is proud to support Tesla manufacturing in the celebrity-rich state, may be one shining example of a person making poor consumer spending decisions… as a man who may have bought something that does not fit.

The Tesla Roadster is a little too little for Mr. Maria Shriver. Had he endorsed the product and bought the tiny exotic sports car model for her to zip back and forth solo to Tennis games, we would not have anything to say. However, as big as he is, the celebrity action hero needs to use his entire cinematic stunt repertoire of postural athletic training to get in and out of the low and "unforgiving access" vehicle. [Picture in your head the Cyborg running man trying to squeeze into a clown car or to perch atop a roller skate and you'll quickly understand why we think the car choice, though noble, was a celebrity OOPS to make.

It might have been a better fiscal decision to wait for the right model fit for his frame to be made, like the new Tesla S coming in 2010. As the new sedan will offer seven passengers seating, the way we measure, it will probably hold Arnold, his Kennedy gene bride, and maybe three suitcases (or another couple if they are heading out on a double date).

Could this shopping blunder give us all a glimpse of why the great state of California is going broke today? Because they bought that size 2 when they really wear a size 8?

Celebrity OOPS: Thomas Jane gets DUI and 120MPH speeding ticket in Maserati

Celebrity Thomas Jane, star of the major motion picture "The Punisher", husband to wife Rosanna Arquette, and new front man for the HBO hit series "HUNG" is one of the latest to be caught by the California Highway Police in a celebrity OOPS incident (the real CHP "Chips guys" -- for those of us who are old enough to remember from Paunch and John TV days with a smiling and tan Eric Estrada).

According to TMZ who began reporting on the story back when Jane was first arrested in 2008,
The Punisher" star's lawyer was in court [this Spring]... defending Jane against charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Thomas Jane [just is one of] the latest driving-challenged celeb to be hit with a DUI...pleaded not guilty to all charges in a Kern County, Calif. courtroom. The CHP pulled over [the Hung star] back in 2008 after they say he was hauling ass on the freeway in a late-model Maserati. Cops say he flunked several field sobriety tests.

Reports of Jane's drinking problems began to come out in 2007 after the actor, while hosting an introductory segment on the "SCREAM" awards seemed to be intoxicated.

Court records from 2009 indicated that at the time Jane was arrested, he was driving on a suspended license. Even smarter, the star's blood alcohol level was above the .08 legal limit. Even wilder, Jane was caught on the freeway doing a buck twenty in his smoking hot, drop dead sexy big boy toy, a Maserati Quattroporte sedan. That's why the story caught our attention.
