I struggled for a while to think of anything I own which is made in the USA but just remembered my mountain bike has a titanium frame made in Washington (though it's Canadian branded) and forks made in California. :)

Ill agree with you on Lack of Education and Religious Extremism. Resentment, somewhat. I tend to think that if we just leave them the heck alone to do whatever they want and be as Shariah as they please we will see less terror attempts.
Terrorism typically arises from some sort of injustice. I think there is some truth to the clich "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." But "leaving them alone" is somewhat problematic as long as we support multinational enterprise that seeks to extract maximum profit in every corner of the world. Even if the business s not based in America, America is the most prominent target.
I know it is not apples-to-apples, but I was wondering if anyone has seen the National Geographic on North Korea? One part that struck my nerve was at the end when the doctors were removing the bandages from the patients eyes, one of the North Koreans first thing to do was go praise a poster of Ill and promise to "Destroy the american scum with my new eyes" or something like that, despite the fact that much of the equipment used to complete the surgeries was American made and American funded IIRC.
Most likely, the government expects this sort of show of loyalty, when they are paying for your treatment. If you do not do this, you would probably labeled as seditiously ungrateful and they would find some way to make your life miserable.

at&t will know what your doing at all times:eek:
While I'm worried about the government, I'm more concerned about the corporations who would use my information.
Considering how corporations screwed up when it came to administering home loans, you think they'll do any better with your private information?
Talk about a bad idea.
So the fact that AT&T can currently know everything about you from miles away is ok, but if they add a chip that works for 30 or 40 feet...that's a problem?

I am sorry if this has been said before, but I would really LOVE to have a right-click (or control-click) option that allows you to send the selected item as an email.
So right-click on a -say- pdf, doc, jpg or mp3 displays the the drop-down menu and if you select the 'send as email' function it opens a new mail msg with selected file already attached.
To me that would be incredibly handy. anybody else think this is a cool idea?

Now that would be something to see - the orange in front of itself. Some sort of 4th-dimensional super orange? ;)
I missed that completely - too funny.

Trackpad is larger and provides more space for fingers than the touchscreen would when you're utilizing those gestures. Difference between a swipe and a full-hand pinch.
Maybe you have really abnormally large fingers! :D
A full-hand pinch isn't that hard to do on an iPhone/iPod Touch

Again I find myself repeating what I've said already, but that's no more time than you and your man have arguing your point.
I think you should review the thread because I'm pretty sure you've been a lot more verbose about it than e and I combined.
Have a nice day! :)

Lucky you.
5D, not so much.
Could be that the 400D came with the latest software. Have you tried getting an update from the Canon website (DPP 2.2 etc). I can PM you the version numbers of the various utilities later on if you want?

The amount of stupidity in this thread is mind-blowing. Don't want people to know where you are? Don't check in. It's so simple.

In-app purchase can be disabled using parental control. This is stupid. I expect my tax to be used by my government to tackle bigger problems, oh maybe like jobs and the economy, not to appease some idiot "parents."
Yes correct, this is the parents fault. Its called parenting or should the government send you a check to do that every month too!

I have had several co-workers come by my office to ask me about Macs since the ads started to air. Two have made the switch and are rippingly happy about it. I hear comments like " iPhoto really does see my camera and open when I plug the USB cord in" and " Mail is so much easier than the e-mail on my PeeCee was" all the time. I believe that anyone who feels antagonized by the ads really needs to take a close look at themselves. After all. they are only ads. I have yet to meet a hard core Windows user who has taken offense at the ads. Our IT guys here are always razing me about Macs, but they think the ads are cool. I like to remind out IT director that he sort of looks like the PeeCee guy. In my humble opinion, the vast majority of folks out there realize that these are ADVERTISEMENTS and do not take any offense.

You can teach them the value of a dollar if instead you give them an iTunes card and tell them its the only one there getting for X amount of time.
That is what I do with my brother. And I think this is a better method than using the allowance account. How many people get paid on the 1st anyway? It's usually the 15th.
The big problem with In-App purchasing is the fact that you can spend $0.99, but you also have the option of spending $100+. You could literally buy a new iPhone with that money, even food for a month. Those cards for like IMVU and Neopets that you can buy at the grocery store/Best Buy, DON'T go for more than $50. Same with Wii and Xbox Live.

I'm a *total* Apple fan. I love everything from my MBP, iPhones, iPads....but the Xoom is a *damn* good device. I mean, seriously good.
It's not ready for the masses yet, but if you know even the slightest about tech (in its use, not in more technical aspects), it *really* is a superior device at the moment.
There are a few software quirks, but a sw upgrade or two and those are gone. Besides, the list of "quirks" in iOS/iPhone OS is still large :).
I own all of them and by business develops & deploys our services for the iOS platform, but the Xoom was given to me to convince me to port at least a UI of our backend service to the Android by a partner - and I'm *VERY* impressed by where the Android 3 platform and the Xoom is going. Enough to consider putting dev resources towards building an Android port.
Apple better watch out, they're flying high and iPad 2 is good, but Consumer Reports is right, the Xoom is good, and it won't take much more to make a good competitor. iPad 3 and iOS 5 better be a *huge* leap forward (and shed some of this Jobsian hubris he has from his ego, I love the guy and what he's accomplished, but his ego gets in the way sometimes, and I see it becoming more and more troublesome for AAPL).
Ever since Android was released on phones I have been hearing that it "is just a release or two away from being a great OS". The reality is that most Android devices are extremely lucky if they get one upgrade ported to them by their carrier. I'll stick with an iPad2 rather than buying something and hoping that it improves with time.

In your case, it's just inaccurate. Shouldn't it be "Lick my nano"? :D
I'd try to argue back but I've seen your photo in the pictures threads and I just don't have the balls. :(

Yes, but you only get 5 points because you cheated. ;)
It's still half credit-- if it's good enough for a 3 on the AP exam, it's good enough for me!! :)
