I use Office 2011 too, except for Outlook and HATE the ribbon. I wish there was an option to turn it on and off. It's obnoxious.
Actually you can turn the ribbon on and off, and you can even modify what appears in the ribbon. Open one of the Office applications, like Word for example, in the top right in-line with the ribbon, you should see a gear icon, click it, a you'll see a drop-down menu, then select "ribbon preferences," from there you'll be able to customize the ribbon, and even turn it off.

That expos thing is just so much better than the current lame multi-tasking that makes you have to scroll through icons at the bottom of the screen. What if you don't even specifically remember what the name and icon of the app you're looking for is?

Target has joined Wal-Mart (http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=internetNews&storyID=2006-10-09T181443Z_01_N09273960_RTRUKOC_0_US-RETAIL-TARGET-LETTER.xml&WTmodLoc=InternetNewsHome_C2_internetNews-2) in cautioning major movie studies that digital movies could hurt retail DVD sales.
Target's letter from President Gregg Steinhafel noted that movie studio downloads were less expensive than DVDs, according to the newspaper. The letter also said that if the pricing did not become more equitable, Target would reconsider its investment in the DVD business, the paper said.
Wal-Mart was recently cited (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/09/20060922134714.shtml) as warning Movie Studios that there could be consequences if more movie studies joined in digital movie distribution alongside Disney.
Disney's Present of Home Entertainment has reportedly met with Target executives to stress that digital distribution remains a small market.

Yeah your exactly right, it gets the job done, and it gets it done very well, but macs are expensive enough, im sure just one chip would cost less.

Seems a bit early to have a finished iPT 5 hanging around. It's not on market for 6 months.
That's because it is capacitive, meaning it is a surface that senses the ouch, not an actual button.
Thanks for that explanation. I was curious about the term and how it was used.
I always question the sanity of people who claim to question other peoples sanity of ridiculous things.
I question everything and people say I am insane.

it was so annoying when i visited NYC that I could never access my 3G internet as the service was horrible. I couldn't believe how bad it was. There is no way i would own a iphone in NYC. Just my personal Experience.

Sadly, I agree. There are other possible explanations, but I'm afraid occam's razor (http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/OCCAMRAZ.html) applies here. ;)
Agreed too. Perhaps she said 'hi' outside because she recognised you and was just killing some time before meeting someone. Or she was kinda interested and wanted to check on it - who knows, perhaps if you felt awkward, you said something that really put her off?
Either way, if you've been in twice and both times she's disappeared, that's a definite no-no. Given that generally retail staff are employed to be on the shop floor and if they hang around the stockroom, they get bollocked, it's an avoidance tactic.
If you really want a last chance option, go to the store to buy something (even if it's blank discs), watch the theater for a while beforehand, don't make eye contact if you see her and see what happens. So long as you actually buy something, she shouldn't think you're stalking her and she may come over. But I think it's highly unlikely.

Something I'd like to see is a rackmount SDXC RAID array. Think how many sd slots would fit in a 1U array. I know, probably won't happen, but still interesting to see.

To be honest, this is a smart move from Microsoft. If there is one thing I cannot stand about Apple, it is the silly prices they charge. The Apple Tax is stupid.
Apple definitely has the coolness going and the "halo" affect from its iPhone and iPads but in this tough economic time. Its hard to 30% and more for a Mac and you're not getting any much different in terms of hardware (other then a glowing apple logo)

Well, not working here in Central California but I think the feature is pretty cool. If I had more friends that used Twitter I would use that to broadcast my location. I have several FB friends that are constantly posting about golf courses we've played or vacations etc. This makes it much more streamlined in my opinion.

I'm perfectly cheery thanks - just don't have any time for this. Either way, I don't think Cowell and Co will be bothered much. Both artists sell records for Sony.

Office for Mac or Office for Windows? Easy decision.
I haven't opened VMWare Fusion for months, since I installed Office for Mac.
YMMV.
After dealing with the bugs in Excel 2011 for Mac, I have been running the PC version of Excel 2010 in Fusion ever since...it runs far faster on the VM than Excel for the Mac runs. There is no comparison.
I'll see if the update helps but I'm not expecting much.
Plus a lot of add-ins aren't available, but you can get Solver for Mac now.
To each his own, I just use the PC version because I can build large worksheets much faster in it. (using Fusion 3, Win7Pro, Excel 2010)

But seriously, if I were him, I'd just say "Screw off Apple, you didn't care about me until I was famous!" Then submit my app for Android.
that's kind of a double-sided blade; you say screw Apple while taking yourself out of a market with a lot of potential sales.
