Up to the point, RacerX...I am tired of these "security warnings" that carry little more than vaporware and a thirst for publicity and hacker-like "fame"...
If a kernel panic is a "serious issue", think again...and go Vista...and please, no market share arguments anymore...we have probably more than 50 million Apple users out there...I am sure a few hackers are still trying hard to make a virus in the wild for them.

I'm 99% certain iPhone 5 is announced at WWDC. Doesn't make sense to go further out, especially with Android bringing up the rear in a big hurry. I think iOS 5 and iPhone 5 are ready and being polished as we speak. Remember, the Verizon iPhone 4 came on the scene in a rush with little to zero leakage. Sure, everyone knew it was coming. But no one knew exactly when up until the last week, and I don't recall seeing much in the way of pre-release photos or detailed information before that.
Apple is good at secrets, and I think the high-profile leaks that have snuck out the last few products have forced them to tighten up the supply chain even further. I'd be shocked if iPhone 5 was pushed to September, let alone 2012 as some have suggested. I guess we'll see.

But this is how the true Apple believer thinks. If Apple doesn't make it, you don't need it. If anyone else makes it, it's junk. All that matters is that Apple makes huge sums of money so we can brag about it here. We want to pay a high price so Apple can continue to produce products that we want to buy and we don't want any competition. All we care about it what Steve says.
That's your choice man and I respect it, we all have our own ways.

This is what interests me:
“Looking forward, 2007 is likely to be one of the most exciting new product years in Apple’s history.”
Yep. Good things happening at Apple!
Looks like we can expect to see some nice innovations in 2007.

with Apple it is in AAC that can be converted to MP3, whereas Amazon sells just the MP3.
Are you saying mp3 cannot be converted to aac? It certainly (and easily) can be done. You can even use iTunes to do it. It isn't the greatest idea as you aren't going to gain any quality and will almost certainly lose quality, but the exact same thing would happen converting aac to mp3.

With such astounding results, you may repeat after me:
Dell is DEAD. HP is DEAD. Apple RULES!
Last time I checked, Apple is still way behind Dell and HP. So I wouldn't label them as "dead" just yet.

Apple definitely should give you a warning that you're about to purchase an app more costly than $75. Although this kid obviously only went to the app because of its cost.
I've heard this general idea mentioned by a few people but I'm more than a little curious as to why it's always $75 that's mentioned as the threshold.
Why is this? What is so special about $75?

C'mon Apple keep it professional and unified. Man they should stick to working on the user experience and internals, not goofy color schemes and such. OS X already looks cool they don't need to make it look kiddy now!

Agreed. At this point, dXTC, you might as well go ahead with the full details. Make this thread complete...
To paraphrase Jack Nicholson: "You can't handle the truth!"
Any more detail about this doesn't belong on a semi-family-friendly forum like MR. If you're that curious about this, there's always Google.

You mean the wishes that, uhm, are to fulfill? If so, then I'd love to get some money, which I suppose I won't get more than my monthly sum of pocket money. No macs this year, damn.

I just seen a T-Mobile commercial where they threw an iPhone 4. :(
Sounds a bit different to the sort of ads T-Mobile has in the UK:

Well Apple has used up all the "big cat" names like Tiger and Lion which means that either OS 11 is underway or they will be in the embarassing situation of having to use lesser cat names which imply "less".
Ocelot, Cheetah, Cougar, Fluffy, etc......
I for one am ready for OS 11.0 "Merlot"
I was REALLY hoping for OSX Couger, lol.
But seriously.... to quote Paul Giamatti...."I am not drinking any ****ING merlot!"

Well at lease I will have one to trade at the Apple store once they get some more in...we shall see who has the last laugh.
I will be at the Brea Mall Satruday AM if anyone wants to trade or PM me.
But you still have to wait in line to exchange... So I don't know how having one to exchange is different from just paying cash? Except the fact you're down almost a 1000 dollars now with something you're not using.

one bit of good news -- the "older" standard 15" MBP refurbs are now only $1449!
Nice find - that's quite a steal :)

Figure that, unless it becomes active enough to warrant doing so, one thread for OC should be fine.
We've got South Coast, Irvine, and Brea, maybe another one I'm forgetting.
Anyway, for those going to the store on Friday, this seems like a good place to post line lengths and poke around to meet up with fellow MR members.
I'll be going to the Brea Mall store around 3PM or so.

Ok with me. I wouldn't pay for the 4G upgrade from a provider anyway until it was as common nationally as 3G is today. Doing it right is a good plan.
