If you are stuck :mad: with your PERM LC being auditted by DOL, several of us in the same situation are sending letters to them as well as promoting assistance thru Congressmen.
Some of us have got a response :cool: from DOL already about it, so go to http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19432 for more details and participate.

I don't have an answer to your question, but it seems a Cognovit Promisory Note could exist only between a creditor and debtor, not between an employer and employee.
I am really surprised your employer went to this circuitous way to bond you for your employment obligation. Do take your note's language and consult a good attorney. This is some uncharted territory. Shows how creative these unscrupulous employers are. Still you may have a way out, if you can prove it is employment obligation related.

It is certainly possible that the response was based only on the information available online, but there is no way to know for sure. That is why it is important to get written confirmation that USCIS rec'd your RFE response.

The price you pay, indeed... my best pictures have come from returning several times to the same spot where I've seen birds before, and spending hours waiting each time. You have to like just being out in nature to do it this way. I can recommend warm clothes and a thermos with something warm to drink. :)

I hope someone here can shed some light on my situation. I have two midemeanors on my record and must go for my interview end of next month. The first misdemeanor was last year when I backed up and hit another car's headlight out. Because I did not have my license yet, I left the scene... hit and run. The second was a DUI earlier this year. I ended up with a 5 year probation on the DUI.
I also received two traffic tickets, driving without a license, in the past two years. I'm almost done paying the fines.
I received my temporary work permit last month and received my interview notice yesterday. Will these two misdemeanors/tickets play a role in my interview.
Stupidity has no boundaries! :mad:
Any advice or comments will be appreciated! Thanks.

I see your way of viewing this; but I have to disagree with you on this.
We have to do something for ourselves and for the future high skilled immigrants; it is now or never.
It is not just about the "proposal"; everyone here knows that it is just a proposal and it has long ways to go. However, if we do not work on our agenda now, chances of getting any of our provisions in any future immigration bill are slim.
Do you have any other proposal as to "what should we do"; besides "not doing anyting"? If you do, we are more than happy to hear your opinion.
I am sorry to say and do not mean to offend you, but if you think outside the "box" of the proposal; this is the right environment to promote our agenda and bring the awareness of high-skilled immigrantion issues.

My wife will be coming back in April 2nd week through Denver. CO POE. Her AP is valid until June 3rd week.
My question is that is 2 months of AP validity / cushion enough or safe to enter the US.
Any experiences from forum members about using their AP when there is 2 months or less left in the expiry of the AP document and they entered the US. Did anyone have any bad experience at POE due to near expiry of the AP. Members entered through Denver, CO POE with their experiences would be an added help.

Thanks guys for advise and kind words. Unfortunately, I did not apply for AP assuming I will get it stamped as was the case in 2005 when I had no problems.

My attornies (big firm...working for Fortune 500 company) says that dates could retrogress anytime i.e. on 15 July 07, dates could move back several months and the chances of that happening are very high. My advise is to have your spouse cut the vacation short and return asap...! You need to file ASAP.

Went in on Friday to get the name change done. I will get it back on 9th July about 11 working days thought web site claimed 6-8 working days.
For 16, take a copy of what ever visa you are on.. H4/H1 etc.
Column 31 should be left blank as its a name change.
PS use new signature below photograph for new passport. Also new name should be filled in the form.

Set up your own company LLC. and ask them to sign corp-corp or 1099 and you be the sole owner of this company.
This way even if you dont get full time offer you can defend self employment.
W2 Contract can be a problem because of USCIS's perception of permanent job.
