    The Office 2011 update is out!
    I couldn't download it from Mactopia directly, but it worked just fine
    through MacUpdate:

    OK, so it appears any category with no super-category appears on the main page automatically. As it stands Mac Hardware, iPhone and iPod Touch and iPod and Apple TV are mostly done.

    Articles that haven't been re-categorised yet are in Old Categories, though Software hasn't really been streamlined at all (just relevant stuff is in there as a subcategory) and the same applies to Networking and Internet.

    Forum Posts needs moving to its new home as a "Special Category" but I can't do that. Guides has also been made a sub-category of "Old Categories", though as its a Special Category it doesn't seem to have disappeared (but I may be being impatient).

    All this Mac vs PC subjective stereotyping is useless. [Cumulative] correlation does not mean causation.

    After listening to the sound bite of Trump asking for both Obama's birth certificate and college records, he strikes me as a political opportunist grasping for straws or he is a raciest.Trump's wet dream is on election night be able to say to Obama, "you're fired".

    Macs have the intelligence built in to auto-connect independent of the cable type. It doesn't matter what kind of cable you use, your Mac sorts it out internally. Cool, huh? :cool:

    I didn't know that. That's kinda cool!

    Yes, but that's just the industry bending to MS's will, not Microsoft actually producing a quality product. That's what's so frustrating here!

    I don't have much time right now (I'm kind of in class at the moment) but I think I figured out how to edit categories, just edit the category page like any normal page, I'm going to test it out with a new category later when I have more time to figure out how to delete my test category after creating it (yes I'm very new to wiki editing).

    Only sysops can delete pages. If you want to create a test category I can delete it when you're done with it.

    its a thursday afternoon. Shouldnt the intelligent people be... working?

    im a bored college student, not immature kid. A little smartass humor does not hurt in my opinion. Unnecessary one word posts are annoying though.

    Maybe I wasn't clear.. yes, that is exactly what I meant.. those who just type two words or less.

    I am off today just to let you know.. I work for a large IT firm and I am on a small vacation as I forgot to use up my vacation which accrued from last year.

    During normal use, my new PowerMac has a very consistent and normal sounding hum.

    But sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, and when idle and not sleeping, the PM's sound becomes unconsistent and goes up and down in about 10 second intervals.

    It will be running, and it will sound like it's about to go to sleep...there will be a slight "click" sound, and then you can hear fans wind down and get quiet...then suddenly it "clicks" again, and the fans wind up and get increasingly louder.

    It then continues to do this quiet-to loud-to quiet process indefinitely until I begin using it again.

    It sounds like an interchanging powering down, then powering up, kind of thing. It's hard to explain.

    It sort of does this (imagine the text below to represent the level of sound):

    ````````*click*----------..................*click*...........-----------``````````
    (not sure if that makes any sense, but it's the best I could do).
    It kind've sounds like it's trying to sleep, but doesn't quite get there, then powers up again...waits, then tries again.
    I've got it set for my 56k to disconnect at 55 minutes of idle, and my PM to sleep at 1 hour of inactvity. I've noticed since I've had it that neither one has ever happened on its own.
    Any help/info/advice is greatly appreciated!
    A call from .........]AT&T, you're an embarrassment.[/B] Apple had better make sure this exclusivity ends next year. This is about as ridiculous as it can get.
    This is old news I have been trying for over a month and a half to look at iPhone prices on AT&T's website and have had the same thing.
    No it won't convert the PC fanboys or the increasingly popular 'I can be offended quicker than you can' crowd but I really doubt those are the target audience. The ads are humorous and hit exactly the kind of audience from which 'switchers' come from - those dissatisfied with their PC experience.
    Apple isn't trying to take over the entire computer market - way too many people you wouldn't want as customers in that crowd. Just getting the kind that do find the commercials humorous and 'on the mark' with the added controversy the commercials themselves spawn is probably more than enough. Look at this thread - if I'd were leaning towards Macs and ran into the PC sourpusses here I'd get one just to provoke them further. Humorless people need to be taunted and provoked at every opportunity - they will either grow or explode, both steps up.
    I'm glad I wasnt the only one thinking like that. But its weird how Bob's comment was almost passed by, maybe because its not what people wanted to hear? Everyone here isnt a part of the 'I can be offended quicker than you can' crowd are they?... I sure hope not.* Personally I think he's hit the nail on the head.
    *No, I wasnt suggesting anyone actually is, but its rather looking that way...
    40% more demand than iPad 1.0 roughly means that Apple should only sell 21 million iPad 2.0's this year.
    How pathetic compared to all the other tablet sales. :p
    I really don't get why people who come up with specs don't think ahead. When SD came out it has a 2GB limit. So they updated it, SDHC for a 32GB limit. Now they had to update it again, SDXC for a 2TB limit. They should have just designed the format to scale in the FIRST place.
    For example: CompactFlash came out in like 1994 and has scaled all the way up to like 137GB, when the first cards were under 1MB.
    Yeah, they scaled just fine when it came to sizes. But instead they are at like the 6:th revision when it comes to speed capabilities.
    Did anyone else notice the font used on the invitation is not Lucida Sans?
    Do you recognize it?
    It's Myriad.
    They always use that.
    You are saying that for everything apart from the iPhone, having more than one type of model is necessary. But, for the iPhone, it'll be doomed to failure?
    Why?
    I'm not saying its a necessity I'm just saying Apple's curve of sales is going up while Nokia and other manufactures are losing sales with the model suggested in the article.
    I'm not saying Apple couldn't pull it of, maybe they can I'm just saying I'm skeptical of this report. That's all :)
